“No Matter How Long the Winter, Spring is Sure to Follow.”
Spring is finally here! Now is the time to start planning and getting those seeds ready. This is the first year in the past few that I am actually going to have a garden space, I can hardly wait. I have a small greenhouse to set-up and some raised beds to fill. This is the hardest part of starting a garden, the flower choices. I want to grow ALL the flowers, lol, but know I need to narrow it down to just a few. A few of my go-to’s are:
Peonies- these are just giant balls of feminine joy. These are my absolute favorites.
Roses- I am going to try some climbing this year by my entryway.
Dahlia’s- These are a cut flower garden work horse, the more you cut the more you get. Plus they come in such a huge variety of colors and types they are endlessly wonderful.
Sweet Pea’s- These smell so wonderful and also the more you cut the more you get. Caution though, they are poisonous so be mindful of children and pets.
These are just a few of my favorites. I am going to add in Delphinium’s and Zinnia’s this year for sure. Ranunculus, Anemone’s, Tulip’s and Daffodils are on my list for next year as they do best when started very early. Do you have a Must plant flower?
I will share my final flower list and growing plan once I have it all set, so stay tuned! Share any of your gardening advice or tips too, I am always looking for insight.
